GUEST POLICIES & SAFETY

Age Requirement

Haunted Hornet is intended for guests age 13 and older.

Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.

Identification may be required for age-restricted activities, including the purchase or consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Attraction Warning

Haunted Hornet is designed to frighten and startle guests.

The experience may include:

• Darkness and extremely low visibility
• Sudden scares
• Loud noises and intense audio
• Theatrical lighting
• Flashing or strobe effects
• Fog or haze
• Confined and narrow spaces
• Unexpected movement or effects
• Raised thresholds
• Uneven surfaces
• Steep ladders
• Physically demanding portions of the historic ship

Because Haunted Hornet takes place aboard a historic aircraft carrier, portions of the experience may be more physically demanding than a traditional walk-through attraction.

Guests who are sensitive to flashing lights, loud audio, fog or haze, darkness, confined spaces, sudden scares, or strenuous movement should consider whether the attraction is appropriate for them before entering.

Guests with a health condition that may be affected by these conditions should seek appropriate medical guidance when necessary before participating.

Assumption of Risk

Participation in Haunted Hornet is voluntary.

Haunted attractions and historic ships contain inherent risks, including startling effects, low visibility, trips, falls, collisions, uneven surfaces, narrow passageways, ladders, and other conditions associated with an immersive attraction aboard a historic vessel.

By entering the attraction, guests acknowledge these inherent risks and agree to follow all posted warnings and instructions provided by USS Hornet staff and Haunted Hornet personnel.

Nothing in these policies is intended to waive any right or responsibility that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

Guest Conduct

For the safety of everyone aboard the ship, guests must follow staff instructions at all times.

Management may refuse admission or remove a guest whose behavior presents a safety risk or substantially interferes with the experience of other guests.

The following may result in removal from the attraction:

• Threatening or abusive behavior
• Harassment of performers, staff, volunteers, or other guests
• Fighting or physical aggression
• Intentionally touching performers
• Entering restricted areas
• Damaging USS Hornet property, sets, props, or equipment
• Ignoring safety instructions
• Dangerous or disruptive behavior

Removal resulting from a guest’s misconduct may occur without refund where permitted by law and consistent with the ticket policy disclosed at purchase.

Alcohol and Impairment

Guests who appear dangerously intoxicated or impaired may be denied admission or removed when staff reasonably determine that allowing the guest to continue would create a safety risk.

Guests purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages must meet all applicable age and identification requirements.

Timed Entry

Tickets are issued for a selected date and timed arrival window.

Guests should arrive during the arrival window listed on their ticket.

Late admission cannot be guaranteed and may be delayed or unavailable depending on attraction capacity and operating conditions.

Photography & Video

Photography and video recording may occur during Haunted Hornet for event documentation, security, news coverage, social media, marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes.

Guests may appear incidentally in photographs or video captured in public event areas, queues, gathering spaces, performances, or crowd scenes.

When USS Hornet or Haunted Hornet intends to feature an identifiable individual as the primary subject of commercial advertising or promotional material, appropriate permission will be obtained where required by law.

Additional notices may be posted when organized photography, filming, or media production is taking place.

Guests who have questions or concerns about organized event photography may speak with event staff.

Guest Photography

Guest photography or recording may be restricted inside portions of the haunted attraction when necessary for safety, performer privacy, attraction integrity, traffic flow, or protection of the experience for other guests.

Follow posted signage and staff instructions regarding photography and recording.

Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings.

We strongly recommend securing phones, cameras, glasses, bags, and other loose items before entering portions of the attraction where they could be dropped or damaged.

USS Hornet and Haunted Hornet are not responsible for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged personal property except where responsibility is imposed by applicable law.

Attraction Changes and Temporary Closures

Haunted Hornet is a live event aboard a historic vessel.

Attraction elements, performers, operating procedures, routes, schedules, or individual areas may change when reasonably necessary because of:

• Safety conditions
• Maintenance
• Technical problems
• Weather
• Emergency conditions
• Staffing
• Ship operations
• Government orders
• Circumstances outside the reasonable control of the event

Temporary interruption of an individual effect, performer, scene, or portion of the experience does not necessarily constitute cancellation of the event.

Event Cancellation and Refunds

Refund eligibility, exchanges, rescheduling, and cancellation policies are governed by the ticket terms disclosed through the authorized ticketing platform at the time of purchase.

If Haunted Hornet cancels an event or materially changes an event in a manner that affects ticket-holder rights, we will handle affected tickets in accordance with the applicable ticketing terms and law.

We will not impose a different refund policy on this website from the policy presented to guests when they purchase their tickets.

Accessibility

The USS Hornet is a National Historic Landmark and historic naval vessel.

The ship contains structural features including narrow passageways, raised thresholds, steep ladders, and confined areas. Some areas cannot be made fully accessible without substantially altering the historic vessel.

Accessibility varies by location and attraction route.

Guests who require accommodations should review our Accessibility page before purchasing tickets or contact us so that we can explain available accommodations and accessible experiences.

Emergency Instructions

In an emergency, guests must follow instructions from USS Hornet staff, security personnel, emergency responders, and attraction personnel.

Do not attempt to enter restricted ship areas or leave designated guest routes except when directed by staff.

Additional USS Hornet Rules

All guests remain subject to applicable USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum rules and safety procedures while aboard the vessel or on museum property.

Additional rules may be communicated through signs, ticket information, or staff instructions when reasonably necessary for safety and event operations.

Weapons, open flames, and other items prohibited by USS Hornet policy are not permitted.
